how can i strech my site main background across the browser like www.ravio.com

hi i am slicing a psd template for a client and he has asked me to make the templates main background go across the browser like <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ravio.com">www.ravio.com</a><!-- w --> I am using dreamwever mx to edit but its not looking right when i try this can anyone help>?<br />
