how can i "save protect" a website

i have been writing a website for someone, and have been asked if i can protect its contents from being saved. i would like to learn how to do that, as well as protecting an entire page or site from being saved. this particular site contains images that are linked to their full-size counterparts, and that is what id like to keep people from saving.

thanks.
This isn;t meant to burst your bubble, but if you dont want thw code/ pics to be taken.... dont put them on the web. There is no way that I know of to keep people from taking pics and code from sites. There are deterrents to be sure, but they only slow people down.

Since your asking this-I expect that your a newer web designer... and therefore your code isn;t going to be so advanced that we couldn't recreate it anyway.

The pictures. If they are that important, why not put a watermark on them and only link to scaled down versions?ok thanx, i was just asking because i have been asked about it, its not for my webpages, but for someone else. i had made that suggestion to this person but i figured id try to find out if it were possible anyway.Mark
ya might try this for protection of code.

Also, I did visit a site recently that explained how to protect graphics also.. I'll have to see if i can find that.. Can't remember what url it was..for the graphics protection.

here's the link & tutorial...
:rocker: GoodLuckSiteTutor, that is nice and all but it is just one of those deterants that Doc spoke about. all they did was encode javascript and that is easy to decode. there is no fool-proof way to do it. for doing the images I have a few links that will help in this matter.
Artistscope Image Protection - It took my Son less then 30 seconds to get one of thier 'Protected' images, asked if I wanted to email it to them.:)yeah the one in the java applet is easy. but it gives people ideas.

also the first line says

"No image or webpage content is 100% safe on the Internet. Bottom line, if you see it on your monitor, it can be copied"protecting image......

this is really not for the average website, but I went to a site that would let you see a satellite image of your home, not a real good image but it was interesting.

Now this image was loaded by an applet that would not allow screen captures (they sell you a hard copy if you want one), I have no idea how its done (besides the applet) but that was the only time I was unable to get an image short of holding up a camera to the screen and taking a picture of it. Screen capture and print screen both would not work and the image was not loaded in local cache and there was no URL to try and link to to get the image.

But on the whole, it is usless to try and protect images from being stolen on the internet. Post pictures that you really don't mind if they get swiped, or post small images of pictures you don't want swiped and used. This is the principal reason that not too many serious artists like to post their images on the internet, too easy to steal them. You can protect your source code using the following script.http://www.cgiscript.net/cgi-script/csN ... id=68&op=t. />
It does work but if you do a full page you lose any pics so best to do it in chunks.already been mentioned and easily decoded.

no possible way to protect you stuff you put on the net. period....
