How can I make money from a website?

I want to make a fanbased website on the topic of Film Score Composers. And I want my own domain name, but I would like to have a way to make this website pay for itself. Any suggestions? Ive made website before that were affiliated with companies like Barns & Noble, which offered a certain percent of any sales I direct from my website, but the results were null.<br />

once it gets popular you can rent the space out to advertisers with other websites similar to yours. Send them emails advertising a spot on your website and put up a banner as an example and tell them how much traffic you get. Advertise a set price such as $5 a month to advertise there or something cheaper maybe.
