Is there any cheap webhost out there, who provides >5GB space and other stuff's.

I want to use this account to keep backups of my sites using ssh/rsync.

I know most of the companies does not allow to keep files that are not related to the respective website.Check it at http://www.bqinternet.com/backup/hey smartcard,You know what I did resently, I bought a Linksys NAS200 which is a network attached storage system, it holds 2 SATA drives. I use the two drive independantly and one backs up the other. In it it has an FTP server/sorta speaking. Anyway what I did and I don't know if this will working for your situation but on my server and do nightly backups of each domain, and I've used plesk and cPanel, both offer a backup FTP option. It has been working great for me for about 4 months, I liked so much that I bought another...lol just for home use, very easy to set up...anyway that maybe an option for you???If you just want an inexpensive place to dump backups, look for a cheap VPS - there are quite a few inexpensive ones in the Offers forum that should handle your needs. With a VPS, you can store anything on the server, and aren't limited by the typical restrictions on shared hosting that prevent storing non-publicly available data (needed in order to make overselling work!).There are many backup services you can go to for this that are very reasonable for price. You may want to look into this.VaultArray, BQBackup, Rsync Palace, Web Wide Hosting VBS, etc ...Hi Smartcard.
I have had experience of a few FTP storage providers.
My favourites are:
cheapftpspace.com/us
ftppower.co.uk
Not had any problem yet!

Hope it helps.I second BQBackup, they are great.I use hostgator, it can do what you want. How much is cheap?I use Hostgator. So far so good with hosting and customer support. The prices are reasonable. Don't go for hosting services that are too cheap because because it is not worth the trouble of not getting a good response from the hosting service. We use SteadFast Network's backup plans.Try Amazon's Storage Service.I use it for all my personal PC's to have them backup to one place.aws.amazon.comI'm using WHM's backup feature to do nightly backups to a home server running CentOS. It works great! Not sure if that would get it done for you.-finThalesI'm using WHM's backup feature to do nightly backups to a home server running CentOS. It works great! I was considering doing this as well. Did you have any big issues in setting this up?

I suppose it would really depend on the speed of your internet connection and how much data you were backing up on a daily basis.I'm using WHM's backup feature to do nightly backups to a home server running CentOS. It works great! Not sure if that would get it done for you.

The only thing we found to be an issue is the load and the amount of time it takes to backup full accounts. I would recommend either an R1Soft solution or an rsync solution over the WHM backup feature and depending on your needs.
