On one of my websites, the homepage has a lower PR(3) than the subpages (4). Why is that? The backlinks point all to the homepage. Some site must be linking to your sub page, at least 1 from a source outside your site I would think. All subpages have a higher page rank not only one subpage, that's what makes me wonder.I have run into a similar situation several times ...On one site mydomain.com was PR-3 and http://www.mydomain.com was PR-4. So it just depended on which URL I used. Also, check your link partners are using the same URL consistantly. The hardest one to understand was when we lost PR on the home page but internal pages did not. Search ranking was not affected so we did nothing. After several updates the page rank reappeared on it's own. On another site the PR was high-3 / low-4 and the toolbar was quite erratic on showing PR for those pages.Just keep promoting your site ... ignore the toolbar.Quote:Quote:brilliant advice. cannot agree more,I got 2 computers in my place showing PR 0 and PR 4 for the same web site. this page ranking thing is killing me. It is always hard time to get started on new web sites. Or is it cuz my england sucks and nobody is understanding me well >??heh.Page rank is only a by-product of a good linking strategy ...The real benefit comes from the link text ... keyword rich links will help you rank better in the search results. Think of it as adding keywords to your site without a penalty for spamming. That is why "Google Bombs" work so well.In effect Google adds the link text to your page.
