Homepage directing to just .php

hi there
my main forum link in the breadcrumb (just the homepage forum url ) and i noticed also in my adminCP (at the top Forum Home Page| Log Out)

the links take me to ".php" instead of "index.php"

where can i edit this so it works or even just take the ".php" out its doing me nut in
im on 3.7.2 with cmps installed

just edit the templates shouldn't be hard

that's cool but I seem to have to do quite a few templates to find another home link comes up as .php (more template edits) not good for an upgrade lator. Is there not a varible I can change or something in phrase manager I'm not sure what I'm searching for. Thx in advance
