Hi guys, recently my site's homepage got de-indexed but the inner pages remained indexed. I've checked the redirections, meta robots, robots.txt and there are no signs of bot restrictions. Not sure what really is the cause and I'm hoping that someone would help me on this.
Thanks Its due to Google Panda i think.
I am facing the same issue. My home page is not indexed but my inner pages are coming on SERP. Just be patient a lot of things are going on so it may take some time you'll see the results back again. Quote: Originally Posted by bbcwebhosting Its due to Google Panda i think.

@akasheg thanks for the advice According to me,you need to update your home page content.Try to redesign your home page and do search engine submission. Typically the Home page is not the first page to appear in the search engines
you may not have the robots.txt access and that you do not have an accidental "noindex" or false "canonical" on the page.
Just give it more time and the "missing" page will appear. website may not be indexed due to below reasons :
Index time
Deep links
Limits of submissions
Missing links
Frames
Placing external links
links from home page
IP adress
Dynamic links
Spam
Technical erros

Host Do any of those apply to the thread creators website? It would be helpful to tell us the issue so it can be fixed right now. I think you are using poor or duplicate content at the front page of your site.....this is the reason, Google isn't index your home page till day. Host Can you provide detail info as how does these affect the homepage inorder to get de-indexed. I mean how does the index time, limits of submission, deep links, IP address affect that, BTW there's noway placing external links, links from homepage can get your homepage de-indexed unless you link to a spam site.
Please make it clear as what you want to say. I found that in news google panda effected only those websites which contains duplicate content, but I did not find that google panda has effected any website which( Article submisson is done on other websites but that website did not contain the same article). So does article submission will help in SEO as it was before?

Thanks, A few article directories like Ezine's got hit the first panda update but they recovered pretty fast with some quality changes and new template design.

Thanks for the replies, anyway I don't think the said above apply to the site, because the homepage got de-indexed a few weeks ago, and yes there are deeplinks on the homepage but it won't be a biggie right? Also, for the content, I'll try to propose to add more content just incase.
We just changed and added the new analytics code but it won't make that difference right? Check if it returns a 500 error when the google bot acatch your sites homepage.
