[High Urgency] - Host Shift

I am about to shift my host since my present one is creating some problems.
My present database is about 5.xx mb (gzipped). I want to shift my database to a new host as well as the ftp part.
I have uploaded the database and ftp successfully to the new hosts PhpMyAdmin and public_html respectively.
But when i trying to access my website, it is giving me "Database error".
Can anybody tell me what steps should i take it in order to bring my website back successfully in a working condition???
I am using : vbulletin.v3.8.1.php.null-dgt
Can this Database error also occur if our domain from old nameservers to new nameservers are not propagated till now?? since it is around 22 hrs passed i have changed the nameservers.
Hoping for a fast and favourable reply.

:3 mmm next time don't put urgent xD i hate when people put that is like D: well i don't like it xD have you cheked your config.php most of the host put a prefix on each database so maybe you have to edit the config to put the new prefix and also give the correct permissions to the user of the db
