I need help with setting up my config file...

I get this msg when i install VBulletin.

Code: 
Attempting to attach to database

Error description: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'ftp.byethost9.com' (4) /home/vol8/byethost9.com/b9_3535992/htdocs/includes/class_core.php on line 311

[color=Red]The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file.[/color]

You've put your ftp details in your server location.

It needs to be the address to the mysql server.

This should be in the introductory email provided by your host, or within your hosting control panel.

It's probably "localhost"
 
your details in config.php are wrong check your databse name,database user,password and host are correct.
 
its probably because you dont have the database name or username right...

name of your root_username
name of your root_database name

i believe i explained that correctly
 
site pm me ur config.php file and i will configure that for u.. after taht u will be able to put yr username and pass in config fil of ur choice.

The name of your database server will never be an FTP location.

Try changing it to "localhost" and if that doesn't work, contact your host to get the correct details.
