Help Please

I just made a site, <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sandsword.com">http://www.sandsword.com</a><!-- m --> and I also made an index.php for it, and uploaded it. And isn't it supposed to automatically go to that index.php?! Please help and tell me what to do to make it automatically show that index.php file when you type in sandsword.com !
