I have a CentOS Linux VPS with cPanel/WHM. How can I change my hostname?
Can you give me the step by step procedure?
Thanks! Hello,
you will have to do that from SolusVM panel, there is an option to change hostname.
also you can do that from cPanel WHM but hostname will changed back when you reboot your VPS. :

Mohammed H Thanks for the response.
I dont know how can I access solusVM panel.
OK I think I should contact my VPS provider.. Open a ticket with your Host. Ask them everything that you need. "hostname <newname>" as root. This works until reboot.
To change permanently you need to edit "/etc/hostname" file ( at least on Debian. CentOS might store it in different location. In your whm look for:
Quote: Networking Setup
Change Hostname You can change it there. But be sure to use your root/password as login. Lol @ everyone that said solusvm a lot of web host do not even offer access to the vm panel and or use somthing aside of SoulsVM, As Lock Down mentioned from whm you can change it in Networking Setup -> Change Hostname
