Help! I have been banned but it wasn't my fault

I host my website on a shared server at apollohosting.com. On 1/1/08 I noticed I was not appearing on Google's organic search results. I used to be on the 1st page, now I don't even show up. I finally realized someone had hacked into apollohosting's server and put all kinds of spam crap onto every page of my website - stuff like cialis, viagra, redirects, etc.... this was hidden text that you wouldn't notice just by looking at the site, you had to "view source" then you saw it. I have taken down the site and uploaded it so now it is clean again. But I am sure I was banned as my site was spidered by Google and taken off their results, but... this was not my fault, I can even show proof. Nevertheless, what should I do, who can I contact at Google, is there an email address, a phone number, etc...? If anyone knows any one or any way to address this, please let me know. I have even noticed that my paid advertising on Adwords placement has dropped way down in the rankings.Any advice, names or contacts at Google, etc... are greatly appreciated. Also I need the name of a good hosting company for our site, it is not ecommerce, just a regular frontpage website.Thank you.Bryan [email protected], provided your Adwords placement is still in the rankings (I assume that, since you say it's "way down in the rankings," it is still in them), but probably haven't been banned. Any number of reasons could contribute to your not turning up in results. Once you've been spammed/hacked that bad, it might take a while - and plenty of work - to get back up to first page.I'd recommend checking out Google's Webmaster Help Center, and seeing if you can find anything there. It might be worth checking out their discussion group for webmasters as well (link at the Help Center). It would also be worth dropping by their Webmaster Central, esp. their Webmaster Tools, so you can see what Google's been picking up. It's possible that after a few new crawls from Googlebot your ranking will move back up - or at least begin to.Thanks so much for the reply Hob. I am registered in the Webmaster Tools and asked for re inclusion. Tomorrow when they are open I will call my AdWords account manager to discuss why my Adwords are not showing up anymore either. I hope I can get this fixed.Bryan ALanYep, Hob's right. That's the best move for now. Try updating some of your content as well, changing it around. Updating content is a good thing, include your Keywords (both strong and not so strong search phrases) but AVOID going overboard. Cooper.... yes i agree ... hope it works out well for you ...
