How many people have paid to buy links on social networks, directories, forums, etc?
Is it something you do how often, weekly, monthly, once in while?
What sort of budget do you spend?
Have you felt that it has been a good investment? It certainly can be a great investment and huge time-saver provided you go for the right services. More over, in competitive niches this is the only way to go, as you need many 1000's (sometimes 100's of thousands!) backlinks in order to rank high. You can find detailed reviews of some of the best LBS here: [articlemarketing4u.com/link-building-services/]. So far, I have not found a good service partner for this. The partners that I have tried all get links on strange blogs and directories that just don't seem to make sense. Sure, they do give the backlink, but I wonder how it will look to my clients when they check the work. I would still recommend doing the work yourself or hire a team. I think you should only pay for the most valueable ones like business.com , yahoo. and then skip the rest. I'm with briandaman on this one.
I too haven't found anything that I would trust - They all seem too "spamy" and most I don't think provide any real valuable backlinks. I personally don't think there is a great enough ROI and I am not sure how much Google will like that kind of activity.
If I was going to pay, I'd much rather pay for a smaller amount of quality, relevant submission/backlinks You need to know where the link builder is going to build the links for you. If they post it on those outdated forum which is not updated anymore, it is also just the matter of time where you will lose those backlink.
