Hands-Free Server Management

In the future (next year) I'll be purchasing a web hosting company and I am looking for somewhat of a hands-free solution when an issue with any of my servers come about. Sort of a monitoring service and notification of server outages. Once an instance occurs I need the management team to deploy and fix without requiring anything from myself or a member of my staff. I would also like to look into the same with a support solution, but that is another situation. Can anyone recommend a good company that offers such a hands-free service?hands free? or maybe some companies called this pro active, check the wiki and offers section, there are lists of Management Providers and email and ask them if they provide this service...I'm not sure of any companies who do that but it seems like a perl script would be able to handle mostly everything you said. maybe check on a code site and see if anyone can code anything close to it. I dont think a perl script does that  ..just kiddin ;)If I read your post correct you need to look for a company that would provide monitoring service and reboot/put the service back online when ever it is down. You may want to check system management offers. If you are servers are having managed services by the DC, monitoring and reboot can be done by your DC.As WCTisha mentioned, "proactive" is going to be what you're seeking based on your stated requirements. Proactive monitoring / proactive support are the likely applicable buzzwords. Questions to ask managed providers might include:1. Do you proactively monitor for downtime?2. Is downtime-checking done via ping, or do you monitor specific network services?3. When downtime is detected, do you proactively fix it without customer intervention?-mikeThere are third party applications for server monitoring, but for fixing technical issues or restarting a failed service you would require a support team. You can check for WHT wiki for such companies. There are plenty of companies that will claim it, but you must be proactive when starting your company as well. Being proactive in your own company will ensure that support issues are handled in a timely manner. As WCTisha mentioned, "proactive" is going to be what you're seeking based on your stated requirements. After browsing I have thought of going with Rack911, but further evaluation of management companies led me to SeeksAdmin. They seem to have a full administration option as well as outsourced support. I am going to email them asking for verification of my needs, but if anyone has any input on their services, it would be helpful.Hi,

I did a small comparison between PSM and SeeksAdmin ..you can check it out at: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=694968">http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=694968</a><!-- m --> maybe you will get an idea.

Thanks.
