I want to run my own greeting card service.
Please inform me which scripts I should use, ASP OR CGI? Which is the best? Im not expert in programming just little know how of CGI Scripts.
Also tell me the most popular script for running the greeting card service?........
Thanx.Hi Joe!
In my opinion CGI is the best solutions, but not all servers support custom cgi scripts, or in other words not allow you to run your own cgi scripts. Very few let you do this, on what terms? you have to find out by yourself.
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.bravenet.com">http://www.bravenet.com</a><!-- m --> have there own greeting card service free for members with some customization. Have a look!
ASP, I don't have good idea about it, so can't comment on it. May be someone else can give an idea on it.
Wish you good luck!Joe,
If you are paying for hosting, chances are your host will allow you to run a script like this. In fact, I have yet to see a real host that doesn't allow CGI scripts. There are literally hundreds of postcard type scripts available. You might want to have a look at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.cgi-resources.com">http://www.cgi-resources.com</a><!-- m --> and <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.perlarchive.com">http://www.perlarchive.com</a><!-- m -->. You should be able to find a script at one of those sites that will suit your needs.
Good luck!
