Google, Yahoo and Beta MSN appear to be in the midst of an extremely dramatic shift in algorithms.Keeping abreast of these changes and "experiments" are essential in the extremely competative world of search engine referrals.Google is extremely sensitive to hyperlinked keywords in backwards links and of course, the popularity of those links. However, new variables appear to have been added to this standard, that as of now are quite confusing to Webmasters and SEOs who have witnessed dramatic changes in their "ethically" programmed sites. While Web page Titles still are an important influence in Google's SERPs, they don't appear to have nearly the influence they had one year ago.Yahoo and Beta MSN on the other hand, is prioritizing link popularity and hypertexted keywords more than ever before. This is an tremendous change for just a few months ago, when keyword frequency seemed to virtually guarantee a respectible showing for reasonably competative keywords. It appears that factoring in some degree of quality link popularity in SERPs significantly helps against SPAM sites. However, especially in the case of Google, the newer sites can not really have a chance and must resort to Pay Per Clicks to be noticed until they can accumulate ample links. One strategy that seems to be gaining ground among SEOs is to relentlessly analyze and disect the relatively FEW sites that have appeared to "ace" all the major search engines.Free tools abound on the Web for just this purpose. Several will thoroughly analyze the keyword-frequency and density of a given site. Some will analyze the keywords and pageranks of the backwards links of a particular site or page. Some will keep a database of the various positions a Web page may have experienced among various Search Engines over a period of time.Taken together, these arsenal of tools can work in harmony to increase the probability of eventual SERPs success and staying power. I could use some advice with this. Google seems to be doing exactly what I want it to do. If you do this search: //edited (which is one of my primary keyword focuses), Google has us at the number 5 spot of 400,000 and they are displaying the content I intended "Talk sports and play sports pools at Boasting Rights."However, if you do the exact same search on Yahoo or MSN, the results that are positioned currently at #2 and #4 are the links at the top of the page. Obviously not what I would prefer to be ranked that high.Any suggestions on what I could do to affect Yahoo, MSN and others without affecting what Google is doing?I had thought about moving those links to a lower position, hoping Inktomi and MSN bots, etc would pick up on the intended content vs. the links, but at this point I didn't know if that would help or hurt the cause.
