has anybody noticed any PR changes yet?i can ''sense'' and update -- the google bot has been scanning a couple of sites of mine like crazy in the past couple of dayshaven't noticed any changes but I'm also getting a deep crawl I got a visit from a Google IP server last night ....The last three updates this machine has visited my site 24-48 hours before the backlinks and PR updated.Wonder what is going to change this week?I wonder too. I had a visit from google IP last night too. I still have tons of backlinks for my travelwalk site that are not updated. I think they are upgrading their database. When I first switched to google from altavista a long time ago I noticed that the number of indexed pages was always the same. "Google - Searching 4,285,199,774 web pages". I wondered why it never went up, then I read that they might have gotten stuck at the 4-byte limit of ~4.3 billion, so they might be upgrading to 5 bytes. Meanwhile, there are only a few slots for "updates", so the patterns are a bit screwy. It should all be normal (if there IS a normal) once they finish their migration.I think this is another one of those Google myths that will never die. All you have to do is look at your cached pages to see they are not using four byte integers as docIDs. If you look at the cache ID it appears to be at least 8 digits. The IDs are case sensitive and contain letters, numbers and punctuation, so I am estimating base 75 digits. (Cache ID shows 10 digits but I am not sure the last two digits are actually used)That would allow for a lot of unique IDs (1,001,129,150,390,625)If this ever was a problem Google dealt with it a long time ago. We will know if an update occurred in the next 24 hours ... just watch your backlinks boys and girls. Do you think there is another explaination for why the number of pages hasn't gone up in so long?I think they are just not updating it ...Try this search ...Quote:No changes Crawls are good but there have been absolutely no changes this month. I wonder what's the problem. http://www.buytemplates.netgd spams gm1234. Google has not been updating some sites for the past few months. I dont think it is as what binaryman has suspected. byte limit and stuffs.hope all the pages get indexed pretty soon....At this moment i do see some different results at the 3 Google servers. (See: http://www.seochat.com/googledance/). So there may be an update going on right now Well ... now I think I have to apologize.... again! Does not look like a general update. Google was doing a return visit ... deep crawling my site. Added another 100 pages to the index last night. There must be a 100 page limit Sorry again ... I promise no more predictions ... just the FACTS. My opinion is dont bother holding your breath or getting worked up.google will update when it wants to, not when we think it will.Yeah ... Just when I think I have Google figured out ... they change the rules.
