Hello,

I use gsitecrawler to create sitemap for my websites.

Are there any tool to create a sitemap better than gsitecrawler?

I learned from this forum that if we have a sitemap on each site, it is good for SEO.

My other question is, gsitecrawler creates a sitemap and I place sitemap.xml file on the root directory.

Do I need to place it on the homepage?

Since my dating site has many links, what is the best way to do that?

Thanks. It is gsitecrawler a nice tool to be used under Windows for generating sitemaps. Personally, I use an add-on named SitemapXML on my zen-cart sites. I think you should create your webmaster accounts on those top 4 search engines and submit your sitemap on them. It is not a problem to keep your sitemap anywhere on your hosting space.

Have a nice day, if you have dynamic pages website, you can generate sitemaps by yourself.
otherwise use online sitemap genrating service, which crawl your sites and generate sitemap. I use GSiteCrawler and it gets the job done. It helps to add a link to the html version on your site to assist visitors but its not critical. Sitemaps are good but I wonder how useful they are from SEO aspects. For instance, by creating your web XML sitemaps and then submitting them to your Google plus Yahoo webmaster pages, more pages of your site could get indexed and crawled but does this mean they would be among the top ranking resources then? I guess not. This is like saying all websites which have a lot of pages indexed could reach some guaranteed top positions on Google and the rest of the search engines. I recently read in an article that sitemaps don't help much in the overall seo of the website and is good only for the initial process. Any thought son this? What exactly do you mean by better? Do you need better filtering or faster or etc?
If not, then GSiteCrawler is better than many other
