I have searched these forums for more info on the Google Sandbox. I didn't find a whole lot and since my money site seems to be still suffering from it I wanted to start a thread specifically for this term. I created another site themed around some keywords that is sort of a side interest of mine in Dec 04 and have finally shown up on page 3 in May 05. My money site has been live since Sep 04 and is the one still in the Sandbox. Does anyone know if there's a set amount of time this "penalty" lasts or what conditions need to be met to get out of it?Please share any knowledge or experiences with this. I believe any information will be helpful.BillW wrote:Thanks Jess for the post. It seems to me though that pretty much everything with SEO is kind of unknown. The SE's don't share their secrets so you have a community such as this that shares the results of their trials and error with others.I can't be the only one that has been in this situation but eventually pulled out of in. I am not looking for a magic solution but would hate to find out 6 months from now that there was something I could have done to pull out a little sooner. I have realized that since this post I have shown up on G' results at about 160-170 so I am a little less concerned about it. Just a matter of time now.minimum of six months i think.to know more on the sandbox, you can just visit these http://seomoz.org (tool to check the sandbox effect, though helps a bit with good reports to know how a site is sandboxed)http://www.searchenginepromotionhelp.co ... andbox.phphttp://www.storebuilder.co.uk/article235.htmlhttp://www.softwaremarketingresource.com/article55.htmlSolution :i suggest you to get listed in Dmoz, that really helps. you will be obviuosly in Alexa, Google Directory, and many more. which really does help.my company site was sandboxed for about 5 months (i joined 5 months back here). but after much hardwork and when i got listed in dmoz, within a week my site was listed 2nd among 27.6 million pages and for many competitive keywords.Note: but getting listed in Dmoz is not a easy task.- Arunalpha wrote:at least a few months wait i reckon, so far, I have experienced 8 months wait.but you never know how long the sandbox gonna last. nobody does.,..I wonder what genuinely determines the length of sandbox period....number of incoming links?rate at which incoming links are obtained?doesn't matter, so long as your site trigger the sandbox, your site will be in sanbox for fixed length?or sandbox length is just very random?Arun,Thanks for the info and links. I found the Seomoz tools very interesting. It sounds like the Dmoz listing or a link from another trusted site is what it will take to pull out of the sandbox. I launched two sites around the same time and was fortunate enough to have my Dmoz submission accepted for one of them fairly quickly. Still waiting on this one though. I've been following up with the helpful editors on the Resource Zone as to the status but they make you wait for 6 months intervals for status checks. Very frustrating but I guess that's where patience comes into play. Thanks again for the helpful info.Jess wrote:Quote:I have to wait less then 6 months... 4 months, more or less...Tip: Create a blog in blogger
