My website eWebDevelopment.net is relatively new (has been around for 2-3 months). As of now, I have a PR4, 1,370 google results for my company keyword "ewebdevelopment", and 11 backlinks. I anticipate a ton more once google does it's dance this month. Anyways... my question is....When I type in ALLINTEXT:, ALLINANCHOR:, and ALLINTITLE: and enter some of my target keywords my website appears within the top 20 results out of millions for all these specific search techniques. This must mean my site is optimized well, correct? But, how come my site is nowhere to be found on google in terms of ranking well? I am not within the top 1,000 search results for any of my keywords. Does PR and backlinks have that great of an effect on rankings?I have often wondered about this effect myself...My theory is that Google applies some kind of dampening effect to new sites. Or maybe looks at the length of time a site has been around.Logically this would make sense ... otherwise the top sites would change everytime someone optimized their site (daily, hourly?). If anyone could put up a new site one day ... and be the top results the next ... would you even bother?Just my opinion .... anyone out there steal a (competitive) top spot right out of the box? Many sites I have rank well for the "all:..." search, but then in the serps, they are nowhere near that. Sometimes it is the other way around too. I wouldn't get to hooked on that. I have never seen any consistant results with it. Sometimes its right on the head, sometimes its not.Your site is still new so you will just have to be patient. It can take awhile.I am guessing you submitted your site to DMOZ already?how new is new ?2 months? 3 ?the allintitle looks like google before the florida update....I have found that certain areas/topics are the ones that make your site take a while to rank well. I work with real estate site and launched a new site 2 months ago...the key term is "omitted" ...it ranks in the top 100 in the first month and jumped to 21 the next month....but if I add "real estate" to the term "omitted real estate" it's nowhere to be found....and the site is more optimized for "omitted real estate" than "omitted"...so I think it has alot to do with what keyphrase you're after...Quote:Unless your domain name is a term that is search for many times a day.Yes i submitted my site to DMOZ a little under 3 months ago when I launched my website. Of course i'm still waiting for them to review it... bah rtchar wrote:slow and steady...
