Is it good bad or ugly?

My views on this is the following this personalized search only benefits google in the sense that when people see the SAME results all the time since there personalized (to me this is like favorites or bookmarking why make them show up in the results)

Also this is based on your click history so now say if your on a COMMUNITY COMPUTER and you are looking up jaguar and the last person was a car enthusiast and you are looking for an animal how are the results going to be relevant.

I really dont see how the personalized results make the results relevant how do NEW sites get seen by users now? I think google needs a personalize button like the get lucky button I agree, personalized results is going to be VERY hard for Google to get right. How the hell can the computer really know what you want? It can't... In order for this to work, there will have to be categories for you to choose from to keep it from guessing wrong -- which you already see on ebay and most store sites.

Maybe I am a car enthusiast, but happen to be searching for images of Jaguar the animal or the NFL team. When all that comes up is cars, I don't think I'll be happy with my search results.

Also, good point about new sites. Google seems to already be biased against new sites -- this would make it a lot worse it would seem. This whole thing disturbs me and would love to know % of the results are going to be personal and what % is going to be organic. I really do not see how this benefits the end user with results does anyone else?
