Hi ,I am an amateur at websites And have just created my first website.http://www.myholisticcentre.com .Igoogle doesn't seem sto be indexing all of my site,in fact is only finding my homepage.I have added good reciprocal links .I used netobjects fusion 8.Have added metags to all pages and titles and images.Would anyone have a reason why my Whole site isnt being crawled by Google. My internal links are rolovers..does ggole have a problem with these??Im lost as what to do ..and really need professional adviceSo..calling all professionalThe site has been up for approx 3 months.I host the site myself so have access and can change things around if required. Thanks a millGoogle doesn't have a problem with rollovers, it will follow what they link to, however they're not going to help you.The text navigation you have at the bottom will help negate the negatives of rolover image links, but personally I'd still ditch them in favour for some nice looking CSS links.Try to get some backlinks. According to Google right now, not a single person is linking to you - that doesn't mean nobody is actually linking to you, just that if they are, Google doesn't know about it. Check your hosting statistics, and see what sites are linking to you and actively sending visitors. If there are sites actually linking to you and Google's not showing them, then they're probably not indexed by Google yet either. Right now, your homepage is, so speak to these other sites, see if you can work out a link exchange. This will help all of you to some degree.Like you said, your site's only been up 3 months, eventually all your pages will get in the index. I had one site have only a handful of files in the index for nearly a year, and now it's listing 13,500 pages for that site (and it's listed a lot more in the past, but it seems to have dropped a few pages).Just give it some time, be patient, and lean in favour of text rather than images for links, content, etc.Try to put a site map to your main page where it has a link to all parts of your site. Thanks John and Alpha for your replies!!Will take your comments on board .This evening i did my nightly google search to see if any of my pages had been indexed and to my suprise I found that all but two had.!!I'm not quite sure how this came about, however a week or two ago I added my html pages seperately to the "add url" in Google.Could this be the reason or just i was lucky??Is Google crawling my whole site or is it because i enterd each page seperately thats how they are found?Anyway the main thing is that i can find a lot more of my pages. Now to getting a good Pr.I'm still at PR0 .My reciprocal links are good ones and average 3-6 and are relevant.Unfortunately I have no hosting stats i can view so actual active traffic Im not sure about.Alpha or Axe .Do you know of any good freeware site map tools ??As you said Axe....Roman wasn't built in a day (And my website sure wasn't)I'd just wait and leave submitting them.. Submitting basically just gives you a false reading. If the only reason you've in the index is BECAUSE you submitted, you're gonna have to KEEP submitting to stay in there.I've never submitted a single website to a search engine in the past 10 years. If the search engines can't find the sites all by themselves, then that just means there's more work to do (Getting backlinks from sites already in the index). As far as PageRank goes, I wouldn't worry about it. The actual PageRank you see in the Google toolbar these days is months out of date anyway. Just act as though it doesn't exist, and build up those backlinks anyways.Does your hosting company not provide something such as AWStats, or anything other Apache log analyzers enabling to you show where your visitors are coming from? search engine statistics, etc? If not, I'd have a word with 'em.Or you could try one of these (not many there at the moment, but the site's building up).http://www.phpsector.com/c73-Web+Traffic+Analysis.htmlhttp://awstats.sourceforge.net/ <-- That's the AWStats website, GREAT program. Needs access to Apache logs.Or you can just write your own into your site's code (depending on how your site's coded - if it's PHP, and you have a MySQL database, you can gather a LOT of information about your visitors).Any there's more over on http://www.bigwebmaster.com and http://www.hotscripts.comSo, there's plenty of options open to track your visitors & site statistics to give you a better understanding of your users and their browsing habits as well as how people are finding you (through search engines, direct links from other sites, etc). While I use AWStats myself, I've started doing a lot more coding into my actual sites in order to allow visitor tracking, statistics & referral information. It's amazing the amount of information you can get from just a few variables each time a page is loaded when it's processed appropriately.Don't stop building related content inbound links. You may not see the results of your efforts in a short period of time but later you will. Check awtsats as per Axe. I'm using that tool too and it is the best tool for monitoring your website for me.Try to keep all of your main pages in the root directory of your website. Google does not give html/about_us.html as much attention as about_us.html which makes sense most people put their more important pages in the root directory of their web site (I have read allot of article and 3 of them mentioned this) it is a good idea to put a link to all of your main web sites either on the bottom or top of the page which it looks like you have done. I recommend getting rid of the period in front of all your links (I am not sure if that will hurt you or even why you have them but I am sure it would not hurt to get rid of them) --> ./assets/images/autogen/clearpixel.gif . I highly recommend putting your keywords in your title ( do not go over 64 characters ) and description.Hi again,Thanks for everyones responses it's great to get peoples feedback especially when i'm a newbie at this.I'm sure im gonna be kept busy over the next few days ...weeks. I think it's a good idea that i create a sitemap and have read other forums that recomend this .I must change my TITLE!Also I think Seo_pro has a vgood point about keeping my main pages in the root directory.I think this may be causing some of my poblems .I created my site with Netobjects 8 and it automatically creates this directory..(I think) so I'll have to play around with it as the rollovers obviously point to the directory HTML where the child pages are,but which i am going to change. Question :Quote:Update.....I have published all html files in the root directory and changed my titles on my pages.Google has updated however it is still only getting as far as my homepage. I have just now added a sitemap which is a trial and only gives me six pages it will link to but if google throws up those six when it crawls again, then i know what to do!!!!In the meantime does anyone have any other suggestions,I have cheked permission on host server and seem to be fine, read access and log access! This is starting to bug me.Awstats is good stuff, highly recommend it here also.recommended here also.update..WEll after adding a sitemap to my Hompeage which the site http://www.searchenginepromotionhelp.com/ creted for me .Google seems to have pickeup all my pages and MSn is now indexing it aswell Things are looking up ..patience is the name of the game!I have added a site meter down the bottom left of the page which is another great Freebie .just left click on the site meter and it gives you some cool info like referring url etcc.I have left this open so evryone can check it out if they want. Good for those (like me) who are amateurs at this. One last question Anyway thanks for all your posts ,seo_pro wrote:Quote:I was stating that when I looked at the HTML for your index page all of the links etc. had a period infront of them --> ./assets/images/autogen/clearpixel.gif. I would go through and change your urls to assets/images/autogen/clearpixel.gif instead of ./assets/images/autogen/clearpixel.gif etc.Update..Having added a google sitmap to my site four days ago I have gotten my page rank of 3.Dont know whether was "just my time" or whether the google sitemap actually gave the PR process a nudge.Either way after four months I'm happy enough with the results i have gotten and have recieve new customers. All for a measely $15Thanks for everyones comments and suggestions which I have taken on-board.Cheers
