Google getting smarter with URL's?

Hi,Have any of you noticed that Google's backlink reporting is fairly consistent even between different URL's that share the same page? For instance:1) website.com/2) website.com3) website.com/index.htmI thought that Google can't tell for sure whether options 1 and 3 are the same page or not, so it'll give different PR and backlink reports for each.I've also noticed something weird with the toolbar --- on some of my sites it reports different PR for option 1 and 2, although they both report the same backlinks. I'm hoping I'm not splitting PR between the two URL's though.Anyone else notice the same kinds of things?I'm not seeing that righ now on my sites, but with all the changes google is making right now, maybe now isn't the best time to be checking. Who knows, the PR could be dances as you check I'll take a look if you post (or pm) which site you see this on.I have noticed that as far as the PR tool is concerned Google is very picky. That is why whenever I have inbound links to any sites I always make sure there is the final backslash. I also never link to index.html.So I would link to URLs like:http://www.bigwebmaster.com/http://www.bigwebmaster.com/PHP/http://www.bigwebmaster.com/Perl/http://www.ozzu.com/Now if I were to link to an exact page on a site that would be different (except index.html). Having the final slash on the URL is the correct syntax and on some servers if you do not put the final slash you will even see a fast redirect so that it has one. I have also noticed that when linking to subdirectories within a site that are password protected, it is important to have the final backslash or it might want you to enter your username and password twice before you can get in (because of the redirect it forces the authentication again). So overall there are many reasons to always link with the final backslash on the end when not linking to a particular page.good info guys. I just updated my siggy links with a /.
