How do you get google to put up all of your pages like most websites are? If you try to submit the other pages, they reject them. If you leave it, nothing happens! And does it update the text displayed for the description? If not, how do you change it?Thanks in Advance Make sure that your site is properly mapped out and and there's a link to your sitemap from the homepage. Each time the crawlers find links to your site, they'll be followed and your page will be cached again. Not sure exactly when the crawler will return to index the site but shouldn't be more than a month. Try to get more links from other sites that get indexed often and soon your whole site will be indexed. Try "site:www.yourdomain.com" to see how many have been indexed so far and just keep an eye on it.google will first crawl your site and will list only the main page. Later it will do a deep crawl of your site, but will only list deeper pages if the search term is relevant to that page moreso than the main page.to find out how many pages google has in its index do the following search... Site:domain.combe aware that google results depend on which datacenter you connect to at the moment of the search.I did 2 within a minute on my site the first returned 26 pages the 2nd returned 396 pages. so be aware it can change without notice. If you want deeper pages to be shown in the index for a particular search phrase then you will need to get incoming links to that page from external sites using the keyword as the anchor text.So what do the Meta Tags do? Will it change what is displayed?Meta tags basically tells the crawler what to do. <meta name="keywords" content="HTML, Macromedia Flash, Java Applets, XML, PERL, C/C++, PHP, Javascript, virtual hosting, dedicated hosting, bandwidth discussion, apache, sendmail, MySQL, DNS, BIND, server security, search engines, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Redhat Linux, Debian Linux, FreeBSD, design discussion, traffic trading, link exchanges"><meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us"><meta name="language" content="en-us"><meta name="robots" content="index, follow">Keywords tell the crawler which words to display your page for. Most important! Others how to classify your page. English searches, what the crawler may index and what not.Google doesnt use meta tags (so they say) so no they wont do anythingGoogle shows the relevant text on the page for the descriptionhttp://www.google.com.au/webmasters/3.htmlscroll down and look at "my description is wrong"How about the title then? where does goggle find that? Surely from the meta tags? The title tag is a HTML tag its not a Meta tagThe title tag is important, in fact it is very important as its what is usually displayed as the link in the search engine, its also displayed in the browsers caption bar and used for bookmarks, so it pays to pay special attention to itI like many others are guilty of not giving it enough attention Meta tags were additions to help further describe a document, but they assumed honest webmasters. and most search engines discard them because of the prevalance of spam in them (except for things such as no_cache no follow etc..).but meta keywords and meta descriptions are ignored by google in particularOh boy this is rather confusing?!?Best place to start is to read through what goggle require in their guidelines for webmasters. Everyone has different ideas, so listen to everyone and come to your own conclusion. What is the most important is that whatever site you build must have better content than the next (original where possible) and clean code.Build up those backlinks from sites with preferably a higher pr than you but using the same keywords. If you SEO honestly there is no reason why you won't appear somewhere in the results.Welcome to SEO The most important thing to remember. concentrate on making your site good for your customers, not for search engines. you can fiddle later but even a number 1 position is useless if your customers don't like what they seeH1 tag is vital but useless without your site having back links. You need more or a good back link. Make sure you internal pages are proper HTML links with
