A recent article has been appearing that says people who spam their site on google answers will receive high pagerank.Today a bunch of webmasters decided to say minimally related things and post their website in every page they could.NO!Adding your link will not get you any higher pagerank than posting in any other forum.Spamming google can get your page blacklisted. Google hates unrelated links on content rich pages and promotional frenzy in what is ment to be a scholarly resource.Nothings more disgusting than seeing a poor guy suffering from anxiety getting posts telling him he needs this or that medication, antioxident, or book.http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=480848Absolutely disgusting.- JimmyRead the article, the tactic does seem to work though. As for getting blacklisted for it - that couldn't possibly be true as you could get other sites banned simply by posting a link to their site! A similar tactic is to post classifieds - put an add up on backpage.com for something relatively obscure or common misspellings and it may jump to the top of google's rankings. On the subject of spam and blacklisting - I regularly come across websites that blatantly spam the search engine spiders with hidden text repeated keywords - Googlebot clearly hasn't figured out what hidden text is. I report them for spam to Google if they're competing with me - after all, why should bad SEO practices be rewarded? But Google never seems to remove them from the index or alter their ranking positions. Has anyone had any luck in blacklisting other sites? All the editors have to do is backtrack whatever email you signed up with. Most webmasters are too cocky to make a fake account.People should fear the black list, and google will likely implement it. The spam is ruining the integrity of the site.Keyword stuffers don't stand a chance against those with good inbound links. Sites with stuffed keywords and normal pages are nearly impossible to differentiate. If your site really is better, it will have people linking to it.We had better rankings when we spammed Google. Now that we've cleaned up our act we can't even find our site unless we type the URL in the search box. So what really happened? Around Dec 17 when Google made the big move we dropped from position 6 page 1 to position 8 page 12 for awhile. A few weeks later we disappeared from their listings. It has cost this company some major bucks! I have read a lot of posts on this message board and did find several things we could have done differently. More quality backlinks, a dedicated IP address, optimizing our pages, a site map........ Does anyone think we have a shot of getting a first page ranking with Google again? We're ranked position 4 page 1 with Yahoo and position 7 page 1 with MSN with the same keyword we've always used. Our page rank is 4/10 with Google listing 53 backilinks. Our website has been online and indexed four about 4 years. Thanks for all the great advise.Track the keywords that were giving you hits. If you can get hits by spamming google, then you can get even more hits by targetting the keyword phrases the people searched to find the spam site and turning them into in bound links.Post a link to your site ... it is hard to comment without knowing what we are talking about. Our website URL: http://www.awesometuxedo.comNow Google has got us listed position 22 page three!Any more ideas on how to get on page one. Keyword: tuxedos.I know everybody is going to say use keyword phases. We been number two before with this keyword. Thanks. On my first post here on this forum I was emailed that my I was spamming this forum because I was talking about my postion on Google and Yahoo. Incidently I do NOT own the domain names Google.com or Yahoo.com. My first post was deleted. Now I see in this thread someone talking about his position on Google.I am more than willing to follow the rules as long as I understand what they are. Is it OK to talk about search engine positon as long as it's not good position?I was told this was a good place to talk about SEO and I still think it is.Looks like you are making a come back ...You have lots of content, plenty of links in your field, and you don't appear to be spamming the search engines. You have a good chance at placing well with such a well designed site.Stay the course ... keep getting links, adding content, and you will do fine.I had no idea you couldn't list your SE rankings. After thinking about it I can see where it could create problems. My mistake.......Quote:Yes you are listed well, your work is done! Do your listings jump around a lot?I see them moving up or down about 3 places. There are times we have seen this happen several times throughout the day.Normally we only track trends over a period of time. It is not worth worrying about minor movements over short periods.Elite Skills wrote:I'm sick of the keyword spamming!!!!I wrote a blog describing how to locate and report spam to Google for those who don't know.Hopefully with enough people empowered, we can start weeding out the unethical webmasters in our ranks!visit: http://www.aboutawebsite.com/blogs/6_25_05.html for the full article.Anyone want to add anything?
