I received this in a newsletter:Quote:From the the quote above...a little piece from that quote...Quote:I tried to set it up, but google fails to detect the script. So no reports.Google are a modern company who give away free stuff for its PR. It better to be with them than against them especially if they launch an internet v2 or something. When you say PR you're talking Public Relations, not PageRank right (when Google's the topic of conversation, you need to clarify, lol). It's been a week now that my one site's been on Analytics (A site that DOESN'T have an on-site store, and DOESN'T sell anything directly), it's giving me a lot of good information already.Mostly, I like the geomap Detected script after a delay of a few hours, first report in 12 hours. Not exactly speedy is it?Now, how could you add that script link to 3000+ pages without gettinga nasty case of RSI?Stick it in your header file SugarKane wrote:If you have a static site, you deserve to go through the pain of S&R on all those files to inject the code PHP Code: [ Select ]SugarKane wrote:You can't always use headers Axe. They would make life extremely awkward for me, if not impossible. Why are you always so grumpy? It is very slow. It took 3 hours to just detect the presence of the thingon my site, nevermind gather any information. When the thing is up and running, the reports will have at least a 6 hour delay. That's fine ... but it is slow.I figured out how to add the script link across all pages. It only takes a few minutes. Got hold of a nifty text-editor which can search & replace across whole directories. All I need to do is search for, and replace, </head> with analytics code</head>I signed up for Google Analytics shortly after Axe. It took awhile to get data (they apparently are overwhelmed with response and are holding off taking on new accounts for the moment), however, the data I'm getting is great stuff! I really like the breakdown on keyword searches and graphs. It's quite a step above my CPanel info. stats are also more accurate than free web stats that can add RSS reading and frame like pages to the UV and Page View stats.
