Hey,If you were to pay good money to be part of google's pay per click program and to be part of all the many sites that are displayed on a large array of site's through the AdSense program, do you believe that those links back to your site will help you in the S.E.R.P.s on google? The web development company I work for has always been #1 or #2 in google for the term " Utah Web Design ", but since the last google update we have been #9 - #10. I have noticed that the ones who were able to obtain a higher position then us are very active in google's advertising programs. I believe that these web development companies that I am referring to use to be a nobody in the S.E.R.P.s that is why I have come up with the theory that if you are an active member of googles marketing programs then it will help with your positioning in google's S.E.R.P.s. What do you think?- JacobUtah Web DesignUsing googles advertising program, either as a publisher or advertiser, Has no effect on serps. How can you be so sure about that? You say it as if you know. How can you know?Have you personally done any research on it or know of someone who has done some extensive research in the past month or so and has written an article or something on it that other users and I may read?He says it as if he knows it because that's Google's official word on the subject. So, I would assume that it's pretty sure. They wouldn't have been able to legally have that statement on their site for so long had it not been true. Somebody would've found out otherwise by now if it were. Doing that would go against all the Google believes in, relevance. Also, there has been so many discussions on the subject. There are conspiracies that if you advertise with Google, they drop your positioning in the free search, and the other way around, as you state.I have clients that spend $10's/day, $1,000's/day and some that spend nothing a day...and nothing I have experienced shows me that the relation of what they spend (or if they spend) in Google's advertising effects them in the free search. Most of the addword baclinks are PR0 only, so no point and it is not counted also.
