OK well i dont get it, i have a ton of backlinks to my site over 500 now. Also i am targeting very competitive words for the search engines and starting to get on page 2 and 3. On page 1 for many less competitive keywords and my google search placements are getting higher every week.
BUT, i check my page rank and i am still at 0!!!! Why? I dont know what i am doing wrong. If you are looking at the Google Toolbar PageRank, it hasn't been updated in months. It is not accurate anyways (out dated moments after updated).
Just keep plugging along. Your PageRank is being adjusted in the background continually. If your site is getting 500 backlinks from the Google then you should get possibly a PR6 and above. But just google update has been pending for the long time it may show 0. Try to check moz rank for your site which may project Google PR.
However, as long as you get the good SERP position and the traffic to the website is high then nothing to worry about PR itself. Page Rank isn't an automatic update like HTMLBasicTutor and ipexpert have said. You shouldn't be worried about your Page Rank too much as the main thing is that your keywords are hitting high on the SERPs.
A lot of people SEO their websites thinking that the Page Rank is the only thing to aim for. I think the rank of your site just suggests how well your backlinking scheme is going.
So just keep going and see how far you can go
yes some time i also face same problem when i check PR of my website it say pr 7 when i search by keyword it is on 2nd no from top what is this no idea why it is happen PR doesn't depend on backlinks only. there are many other hidden other things which help to get Good pr. Do not worry about page rank. Google page rank update in pending , your site's PR might improve in the coming PR update. But keep in mind that you can rank well without having PR since PR has nothing to do with ranking. only getting backlinks is not going to help you to rank high on search engine. The link you get should be comes from quality websites. it is more important to generate seo friendly backlinks.
