Looking for good forums that,
by default offer extremely excellent website intergration.

I like the IPB/phpBB forums, but I want more....

Also I want to be able to easily edit
the various colors
(links to topics, scrollbar colors, background color, text color, etc.)

also it must be free lol.

I've looked @ Snitz forums (popular for gaming sites, I guess), but
they need ASP, and I do not have ASP support.vBulletin is one of the most popular forums out.

Any of them are fairly simple to change templates and colors around on if you have a clue to what you are doing.

BleuIcevbulletin is no where near free though.Oh, I hadn't read the line where it says it must be free.

Then, yes, vBulletin will be out of the question.

I would avoid forum systems like Snitz and others, stick to IPB or phpBB2. They will definately get the job done with the right template.

BleuIceI currently have IPB, but
I can't get the damn scrollbars
to even change colors! And I'm pretty good w/ CSS,
most the time...

Same w/ like the lil blue parts where it says name
of the catoglory, etc.

Plus I want something with better,
easy to set up website intergration.

I.E.,

Be able to:

Sign into forums anywhere on my site,
and while signed in (on website) be able
to see if any new Private/Personal Messages,
go to My Controls, etc.

Then also a easier news-exporter system thingy
(display latest forum topics/posts).

I know there are modifcations
for this, for IPB, but I've not ever
been able to successfully set them up, etc.there is not one forum out yet that can do all that. you have to make modifications to do that to any forum. or you can get a portal system like phpnuke to do that. again you will be wasting your time setting it up just for the little features you want.If you really wanted to do that, before learning how the whole forum system is setup, I'd recommend just using their premade code and editing it rather than making your code and trying to add in their parts.

That is of course, if you 'had' to have it.

BleuIceTake a look at the phpBB, vbulletin, ubb, and invision forums.Originally posted by giz
Take a look at the phpBB, vbulletin, ubb, and invision forums.

Have you read ANY of the above posts?

BleuIceWell, thats what I mean...
I'm looking for PHP/MySQL forums that
have pre-made codes for JUST the titles of recent
forum posts....

also pre-made codes for logging in.

I tried a mod (user-submitted) for a "anywhere log-in"
for IPB forums, but never got it to work...The phpBB2 boards don't have a 'most recent posts' feature built-in, but you can find one from <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://phpbbhacks.com">http://phpbbhacks.com</a><!-- m -->.

I am unfamiliar with the working of IPB, but they probably will have it pre-done.

BleuIceThey do xcept its a full blown post!
I just want the stupid title of the post or at least
like "RE: [topic name]" y'kno?

I'll check out the phpBBHacks.com site
