Want to learn PHP. Could someone recommend a good book?

I have programming experience before and know many languages including SQL.there are many books out. Rydberg suggested one to Josh so maybe he can suggest it to you. I have some books but mine are old. look at O'Rielly or Wrox books.Rydberg reccomended this book to me a while ago, and I got it and highly reccomend it myself.

Good luck :)Yup the first one of the books Josh listed is probably the best one out there for you. It's indeed a great book, and very up to date, for being a book about something that evolves as quickly as PHP. It is not PHP 5 ready though. The other two books are, but they're not for the beginner, more for those who wish to advance further into object oriented programming and such.

Good luck, yeah!I looked at the link and that's what I figured.

Good luck, yeah!I found PHP and MYSQL for dynamic websites by Larry Ullman to be great for what I needed. He also has an advanced book, but all his books may be updated soon to PHP5, his beginner book has already been updated, but I forget what its called. He also answers questions on his own site about any questions with his books which is a nice added value.
