At the top of "www.ozzu.com",there is a link "Automatic link exchange". If we join them, will it be possible looked as joining "link mall" by GOOGLE? Some has joined them?wuzhong wrote:Yes, it's a good idea to join link exchanges providing that you are joining a link exchange that is relevant to the content of your site. A cautionary note however . . . Google will now track how fast you acquiring new inbound links and if it sees you growing links too quickly you could be flagged up on their "spammer radar" as being a spammer instead of a genuine concern. So, make sure you add links gradually and make sure they're relevant to stay in Google's good books! This of course means staying away from services who offer "314 quality inbound links in just 24 hours" type of people.Hope that helps! gfawce1 wrote:Sure, give me a little while to go through my history. I'm sure I read it just recently in fact. . .BRBHey Bompa:The article I read is here:http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/6-10-2005-71368.aspThe articel refers to a US patent recently filed and made public which outlines ways in which google could index now and in the future. You can view full details of the patent application and it's content here:http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=20050071741&OS=20050071741&RS=20050071741Let me know if I've misread anything Who are those people named in the patent application?I didn't see Page or Brin there or the Google name.Bompagfawce1 wrote:Thanks for the feedback! And you're welcome for the info . . . although I prefer to err on the side of caution I perhaps should not have taken this at face value. Thank you for your insights!Well I have made a link directory that is shared that is targeted for gambling/casino webmasters and heard a lot of the same feedback "A link directory that is thae same on many pages is considered bad and you will get marked by google."Well lets look at this for a second.Links are links, here is a bad example of links...FFA pages where your link is listed for 1-3 days then gone, all pages include FFA in them somewhere so google targets this as link spam, that is if it even sees your link there when it crawls the FFA page. No penalty but no gains other than a spamfest in your inbox. (I made that mistake when i first started)Lets then look at good links..Dmoz is considered the pinnacle of a link directory correct. then Yahoo is up there.Lets look closer at these two and see if the above comments are related. Dmoz has over 1000 domain pages out there using their directory as is including google itself. Yahoo also has many replicas of its directory on many many sites but yet nobody is afraid to have their link listed on either one of these? It comes down to common sense really.Static links of any type are great, forum sigantures, link pages (I even hear its bad to be listed on a page with the word links in it) and of course web directories. If you stop and think a bit most answers are already there. Thanks all for you reply.
