OK, I've built my new site, got it on the web, submitted sitemaps, am listed on google etc now I need to let the world know the site is there.
I know I have to use social networks, create a blog, do blog commenting, directory submissions, link building, write articles etc etc but I can't get myself organised and seem to be trying to do the whole lot all at once!!!
Can somebody tell me a good way to go about this in some kind of worthwhile, logical and EFFECTIVE manner????
Thanks in advance. It can be very overwhelming. The thing I would do is to work on one page & one keyword at a time.
Also, it can be a lot more effective to develop linkable resources versus building all back links by hand. There are so many conversations and articles on the web regarding link building it can be easy to overlook the basics. just keep putting contents to your site and continue building link..have you done on-page optimization? I don't know what the goal of your website is. You should have identified this before you built it. From this you should have decided on your targeted market and key search terms and built your website catering for these search terms on your pages - onsite optimisation.
Start with directories for off-site optimisation and keep a record of it, particulary the urls of the directory pages where your links will exist ( to check if they get indexed by Google ).
Then move onto competition link analysis and construct a link building plan. Continue building links. Organize the whole subject in a manner which is best for you. You can start with articles and then social bookmarks, directories, blog comments, forum links etc. Thank you all for taking the time to reply with lots of useful information.
The pages are all pretty well optimised and split into categories so I'm able to work on 1 or 2 distinct keyword/phrase for each category.
I'm already getting myself organised and working on one thing at a time.
Thanks again.
