Getting hits from the right country

I host a number of UK web sites and all seem to be picking up a lot of hits from the US, but not so many from the UK. I've always taken geo tracking with pinch of salt but the numbers just don't seem right to me.My sites are hosting on UK servers, most of the sites have .co.uk although one or two do use .com.Is there a way of getting google (and other search engines) to target your site to the UK. (in normal listings, not pay-per-click). I wondered if there was anything I could do to my html code to help? Also, does using a .com for a UK site mean your naturally going to get seen more in america, or does google ignore that and just look at where your site is hosted (ie. UK servers). Many thanksGoogle just serves results for the search, we all see the same results no matter what country you search from (except china i think).Theres not a lot you can do, just have to accept there are more americans than brits.. a terrible thing to think about i know, but that's life
