Hello,Can you please suggest some tips to get the site indexed by Google. I submitted it to Google, Yahoo and dmoz.org but no results yet. Its not even spidered yet. Any more helpful tips. The site is a forum: http://www.techblazers.comThanksIm not sure about ipb but1: Most forums need spider friendly urls, to make them shorter2: Sessions, yet again not sure about ipb but when it comes to phpbb you defenetely need to remove session ids for bots3: It takes time with googlehow long ago did u submit it and what page did u submit? Sometimes if you link to your site from others you will not even have to submit your site as spiders will follow that linkI submitted the URL http://www.techblazers.comThere's another IPB Forum which shows up most of the time in google. There's a link to my site in tht forum. I submitted around 2 weeks ago. But there's been no crawl. How long would it take? Do I need to rewrite Meta Tags? Thanks in advance2 weeks is not near enough time really. As it will need to be crawled #1, then added to the cache, then replicated to the datacenters.. and if the sites not already listed in the index it takes time.Try to get a link for your site from one of the page which is crawling every day then 2 days later you can find your site at Google index. You already give a link to your site from this thread page so i am sure that it is going to be indexed max in a week.you can do a mod_rewrite on the urls to speed up the process aswell ctrenks wrote:Forums also require search-engine friendly URLs mod. There;s one for 1.1.x and 2.0.x. I haven't found one for IPB 1.3.x yet. This easy mod utilizes matt's show.php to automatically turn all ibf categories, forums and topics' URLs into search engine-friendly URLs, by removing all querry strings and session IDs, which google and other search bots do not like. they are the reason why ibf inner pages do not get indexed.example:http://site.com/i2/index.php?act=ST&f=50&t=245will be automatically changed to:http://site.com/i2/show.php/act/ST/f/50/t/245google hates querry strings, like [&,?,=] but using this little mod, it will simply see your URLs as normal directories, so their spiders will index the forum's pages as deep as it gets!Funny this thread showed up in search.yahoo.com but not in google.com when I typed my site name - http://www.learn-islam.net Imraan wrote:I think google visited the index page - It shows the site when I type it in Google. But due to a problem with Session IDs the forum did not get crawled. Then I removed session IDs and I saw Archive.org crawling all over the forum 2 days back. How long will it be before Googlebot revisists the index page and crawls the forum now that there are no Session IDs to hamper it.Thanks in advance.Quote:My forum got indexed. Here are the logs on the forum. Strangely the forum topics took around 2 weeks to show up in google when I typed "site:domain.net".Google.com 22nd April 2005 - 01:55 PM 66.249.65.162 Google.com 20th April 2005 - 08:07 PM 66.249.71.69 Google.com 11th April 2005 - 05:40 PM 66.249.64.39 Now any tips for making the topics show up in searches. This is where PR comes in?
