getting around inner join

I need to do a select with an inner join, but it's not in mysql

is there any way around it?

SELECT PROJECTS.Project_Name, PROJECTS.Project_Id,
USER_XREF.User_Xref_Id AS checked FROM PROJECTS
INNER JOIN
USER_XREF ON
PROJECTS.Project_Id = USER_XREF.Project_Id
ORDER BY PROJECTS.Project_ID
