I have just had to reinstall my forum and when setting up the image verification part up it doesn't show the verification images instead it just shows the letters 'GD'. Meaning I have to disable it for registerations.

Now, recently my host have updated CPANEL so im not sure if its anything to do with that or not but wondered if it wasn't then how do I fix it?
 
Likely that the problem is a change to PHP. Run phpinfo.php to see if the support for GD (btw, needs to be compiled with TTF support). Your hosting support will need to get involved probably.
