A client of mine is using FrontPage extensions on their website. I guess someone removed them and now they need to have their ISP re-init the extensions.

What are FrontPage extensions and why would they need them? Their site is completely static and they run no forms, etc.WOW! I guess NO one out there knows anything about Frontpage extensions. I have a hard time believing that. :(well considering you only gave your post 5 minutes until you replied again. that doesn't give much time for anybody else in other timezones to reply.

front page extensions are the devil and shouldn't be used. they are extensions only made from Front Page. no other program can use them. your Host has to support them as well.

most generic extension is

again. stay away from themThey are a set of server-side applications that enable you to incorporate the advanced features without having to write the complex server-side programs typically required.

examples being:

Integration with Microsoft Access (a database program)
Site Searches
Page Counters
Site Publishing to your web server.
Forms
Discussion groups

this is what you need frontpage extensions for, if you design a site in frontpage and don't use nay of the above you don't need frontpage extensions! :)

scoutt beat me to it :POk...thanks for the info, guys. I'm going to try to persuade this company into NOT using Frontpage extensions. I guess they publish using them, but have NO real need for them. They are very non technical people. I guess teaching them how to hand code their edits and upload via FTP will be a stretch. ;)

god i am giz junior aren't I :PHmmmmmmm...what's wrong with using "marginheight, marginwidth, topmargin, and leftmargin" in the body tag?

Is there some other way (better) to do this?

www.brianyoshida.comthose are deprecated tags and shouldn't be used.

keep these

marginheight, marginwidth

as thsoe are netscape. the others can be taken out and css used instead.

add this to the body tag

style="margin: 0px,0px,0px,0px"

that will take care of IE and supposedly Opera. Mozilla uses tehm as well.
