frames and modern search engines

So i got a question for you knowledgeable SEO folk. I started my photography website in May and sometime, I would say probably in September, I began optimizing the site. Anyways, here's my concern, I like using frames because being that it's a photography website, there's naturally little, if any content the search engines can use, unless of course I start putting a bunch of marketing hype on my site (which I recently did). So using frames allowed me to put all my marketing hype and relevant content as alternative text where effectively no one except the search engines would see it. Tell me, could I get penalized somehow for doing this? I read in google's website that they frown upon people trying to hide text, but at the same time they recommend using alternative text when using frames. And where as Yahoo! has showed me some lovin', Google has showed me no love what so ever, I'm concerned it might have been because of my former use of frames (I switched to regular HTML yesterday for my home page), so does anyone know exactly how using frames and alternative text might affect google results?Using frames is always a bad idea from an SEO standpoint. There's no reason to use them in webdesign. I would redesign without frames and you will get better results.
