Finding site from search engines

I have developed and html site and submitted the site address to google. I have entered all keywords associated with the site in the meta data but still cant find the site through google or any other engines. Whats more, other sites with less meta data, even without the keywords im using in my search are being displayed. How do I get better search results?<!--content-->It typically takes above one month to get publicly listed on a Search Engine, writing a well-structured page is a good way to get higher ranks.<!--content-->
