Files are damaged

hi all...
i have used vbulletin 3.8.1 from another publisher...
it sucked totally because:
bugs^^

and now i want this perfect release from DGT but:
ive installed and worked on my forum already...
is it able to overwrite just all files and keep the stuff?
because i hate that bugs and want fix it with your version
 
but how?
must i only overwrite all files at my ftp?
will the settings etc and posts and topic and members etc... stay?

It depends, if you just upload and overwrite files without new installation, the database is not modified and all the content stays intact.
