Google still can't read flash ergo Flash is bad for SEO purposes.
Having a text version should fix the issue, however a LOT of newbies don't know how to do this properly... So you know the easy way to fix this? Use HTML5 (Google can read this and it can do everything Flash can) = Problem solved
NeO There are so many illusions in SEO and internet marketing in general, there are overestimated activities and there are obsolete techniques and other things...
-since almost everyone is anxiously turning to social media, users are starting to "get sick" of being fed by so many companies trying to get "liked"... the result: many people will just ignore your efforts... good SEO is still better than social media, in my opinion
-there are obsolete techniques, such as keyword stuffing, link exchange... many are still using them... counterproductive...
-content and backlinks are far more important than content optimization... I left several client sites intentionally unoptimized and they performed much better than SEO-ed content sites...
-once a search engine like Google or Yahoo notices that you are SEO-ing, they will not like it, but will rather pull down on you...
-we spend more on SEO efforts than on content creation and on product and service development... The Duplicate Content Myth
From doing some research direct from Google Webmaster's Tools and Article Directories such as ezineArticles, I've discovered that it's perfectly ok to post duplicate content both on your site/blog and on article directories, so long as you are the original creator of the content and you provide proof / link / citation. Post on your own site / blog first so that Google recognizes that as the original.
From an SEO standpoint, Flash is a no-no. Use only for designing interfaces, animations and interactive stuff. Myths around SEO will stay and grow as long as Search Engineers will keep most algorithm factors in secret, but most of them are result of SEO comapnies porpaganda like "get to top position in only 1 mont for less than 100$" and other such c...p Flash page is, indeed, not good... Search engines are still struggling to crawl files in flash... If you have a page created in flash only, crawlers won't be able to crawl its content (no matter it has text or other media files) Quote: Originally Posted by academysigma The Duplicate Content Myth

Nofollow link has no value to SEO.
False because it has, indeed it has been explained many times before, nofollow link will give you value in SERP and can help you balance your dofollow backlinks. Don't ignore the nofollow link, everything has a purpose, also search engines can monitor if you are only posting in dofollow link. (Beware. )
SEO is about page rank.
False because SEO is a way in helping a website to be more visible in search engines and to people, ultimately. Being so particular to page rank will result to a website built for search engine not for people. Promise.
SEO is similar to link spamming
No way! You mean all those top result are spamming their link? I don't think so. Maybe the reason why you say so is because you are doing it! Aha! I got you.
That's why we have so called Black hat and White hat SEO, to help us choose which way to go, and look a Gray hat SEO is also formed. (Nice color combination!)
Back links from forums can help you improve your ranking
False. No matter how many backlinks you have in a forum, if the discussion is not of a value for readers, the backlinks you get are also no value. No hurt feelings!

MrSS Unique would always help more than duplicate content even though allowed by google & ezine.
A very good point by MrSS, lately there is just too much emphasis on pleasing the Search Engines rather then end user or buyer.
As long as the algorithms are secret and the tweaks happen @500 per month it would be difficult to really believe what is effective - ineffective / true or false. 1. Hundreds of companies/ website do it that way, so it must be right.
2. Onsite SEO doesn’t matter.
3. Keyword density doesn’t matter.
4. Look what I did in 2009 (non-current year).
5. Matt Cutts [or insert Expert Name or Blog here] said it [insert year here] so it must still be true.
6. You can’t hurt a site with bad links Well the thing is there is nothing exact or constant in SEO. Every time you have to experiment. The biggest myth is that SEO provide the sureshot ensurence to be at the top. one day the site is at the top and another day the site is at the 20 page.. ranking keep changing Quote: Originally Posted by NeO Google still can't read flash ergo Flash is bad for SEO purposes.

NeO I don't think this is what SEO's today have been believing. Everyone is aware that Google has become intelligent and smarter than before and that it can now read Flash and there are techniques to optimize a flash website for search engines, specifically for Google.
