Expired domains a security threat?

Last week I bought an expired domain. The domain was very good, and I started to develop
it. I added a "catch-all" mailbox and forward all incoming mails to my regular mail account.

The next day I received this email:

Dear ####,

You signed up on http://####.com a while back and we have changed our website.

Your username and password on our site is:
User: ####
Password: ####

...

I receive new emails almost daily to the domain. Some of them have included
the previous owners full name, address, phone etc. Most of the emails are just spam
but two emails have been very private. I did a search on google, and the previous
owner is a photographer from the US. Google even gave me a map to his house!

This scares me. It's easy for anyone wanting to do an identity theft to register
a few expired domains. Most password protected sites on the internet has an option
to resend/reset the password to the registered email-address.

Do you think I should contact the previous owner and tell him about it? Or should
I just delete all incoming emails to his old address?
