All,

I am running Windows Me, IE 6, PWS, .NET Framework SDK Beta 2 setup. My
objective is to run a simple ASP .NET page on my system (so I installed PWS).
When I run the tutorial pages (on this site like simple.aspx, showdate.aspx, sayhello.aspx etc) with IE 6 browser, all the time I see a blank/white screen appears with no output. The satatus bar shows, 'Done, but with errors on page". I doubl clicked the status bar to see the error. It just says line 8, char 5, expected ; - that is all, nothing much. The PWS works well for ASP page and gives correct output.

The ASP .NET tutorail site says that .NET Framework Beta 2 (I have installed) is
enough to run ASP .NET page and nothing else is needed. A web-site advised me to
reinstall the VB Script engine, because it might be corrupted or missing. So, as
per the instructions I reinstalled Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove
Programs->Internet Explorer 6 and Tools->Add->Reinstalle->WEb
Components->Ckecked the item VB Script Engine. Everything was finished. I tried
that ASP .NET page after a reboot, still the same error "Done, but with errors
on page" on the status bar.

What am I missing here. Please help me here, which will be really great - my friends. I am new to .NET realm.

Thanks,
Syed.
([email protected])So you are running the .net framework on a WinME machine? I thought it required Win2K Pro or higher or Windows XP Pro or higher.

I didn't think it worked on PWS????I am also having the same problem with IE6 and win98.
I also wonder if it works on win98..
However, I have checked the book "teach yrself asp.net in 24 hrs". It claims win98 works by PWS. I have also check the help page of microsoft framework SDK beta 2, it claims win98, me can read asp.net pages....

But I don't know if the problems lie in IE6...
So I would like to ask can anybody work asp.net on Win98...??
Thanks
ASP.NET will not run on PWS. It requires IIS, on either WinNT 4.0, Windows 2000, XP.
