When designing HTML pages do you typcally make all the graphics, buttons ect separate and place them individually on the pages with CSS - or - do you design the whole think in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Freehand and then slice the sections that you need for graphics.

The newbiest newbie
JohnI usually do my design in Photoshop. Then, when I'm done, I see what I can do with CSS. For example, backgrounds or dashed line around boxes and stuff. Otherwise, I'll slice what I need and put the image in.

I try as often as I can to do everything in HTML with the help of CSS, but with headers or curvy(sp?) border you can't, so... in come the image!

HTHThanks Karinne, I think that's something like what I doing. Had a banner, made buttons, cut it up, (or used Image Mapping on some(is that cool?)) And have been doing all other placement and formating with CSS. Since I am working with a template in Dreamweaver MX I think the CSS will bode well. Hey I knew a Karinne once, she spelled it with a C though and you probably pronounce it all en francais. You guys getting this rain in QC? I'm down in Maine.
Sorry if my questions are lame, I just started HTML a few days ago. I did make this site in flash (http://www.maineislandillusions.com)
and now I'm working on the HTML version.
Thanks for the help
