Drop Down Menu Items

I need to do some drop down menu items for our main nav bar like the kind you see at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.microsoft.com">http://www.microsoft.com</a><!-- m -->. I was going to use layers but for that you have to have specific coordinates. The problem with this is that our page is set up so it resizes depending on the size of your screen. So if someone views our site at a smaller or larger size, the drop down items will no longer be where they are supposed to (I hope this makes sense). Does anyone know any good codes I can use for this or a url where I might be able to find something similar?<br />
