Driving traffic quickly

I just finished a website for a charity event that will take place in three weeks(!). Because of the time crunch, the clients want to get a lot of traffic to the site fast. This isn't in my scope, but I told them I would check into possible ways of doing this.

Anyone have an idea?
If your client is having a charity event, I think it would be a good time to use a press release. The press release can provide some information target="_blank">PRWeb.com and any similar sites.

See if the Chamber of Commerce has a mailing list to which they can send announcements. You can also include fliers and ask the Chamber members to post the flier in their business window.

If there are area tourism websites, they will often post events in their Area Happenings section for free.

Thanks for all the great ideas.

About PRWeb -- does anyone have have experience with the paid services? Are they worth the expense?
Hi,

I'm happy to answer you for this question. Hire a content developer to prepare articles and submit it. They know the techniques better to promote your website and also to rank top. You can also ask them to do Forum Posting and Reciprocal Links Exchange. This will really help you to add a huge traffic towards your site. This will also help you to increase your PAGE RANK..... You can have a look at the following site for a good reference regarding SEO...

SEO | SEO Company

I had a look at you can get 1000 visits for $3 - so if it doesn't work you havn't lost much.

Is the client wanting free traffic? if not adwords with a decent budget should promote this site enough in the 3 week and your visitors will be targetted.

Setting a realistic budget is a must to ensure you don't over spend.
