It's the 4rd domain name in 3 months that I request a quote for. Never got an answer to any of those requests. Is domain.com now also doing speculation? Nothing surprises me anymore. Meanwhile, I quit on them.
Quiet frankly, this whole domain business has gotten out of hand. I see you fine people over here buying/selling/handling/bartering/showing and I cannot stop thinking somehow, somewhere it got out of hand. Sorry. Don't take me wrong. You are doing it because you can. So go you! But I still need to rant a little. Bear with me.
What happens to a company named GoGoGo that wishes to buy gogogo.com? Does it have to submit to the will of some 18 year old kid who happens to have it stashed somewhere in a blog farm he only uses for page ranking?
And what happens if that domain is owned by companies like domain.com when it can't even get a quote?
ICANN UDRP's is 1,600 USD just to fill in. Not to mention the expenses derived from the wait until a resolution is achieved. In my opinion, not worthed unless the domain is in the hands of someone not willing to let go. Google's Page Rank meanwhile was probably the most damaging invention after the combustion engine. The whole system from ICANN to Google simply seems to favor speculation.
Companies like domain.com now seem more like sharks. Their adds and their "we want to serve you" just don't sound true anymore. I feel I'm being scammed. I know how I could get that quote from them; I just simply needed to use their text box for comments and speak $$$. Didn't need to say anything other then giving an hint I have money and I'm a gullible fool willing to pay 4 figures for a domain name. They would definitely get back to me.
Ah well. let us wait for ipv6. End of rant.
