DOM, DHTML, LAYER or WHAT??

Hi!When I want to change some text in my document using Javascript, I dolike this:<p id="mytext"></p><SCRIPT language="JavaScript">mytext.innerHTML="Welcome to my site"</script>However, this only works in Explorer.I've been searching the web for days now, on similar techniques thatworks in Netscape as well.I've been reading about DOM, DHTML, Layers and stuff.But even though I've read about these things, I am hardly any wiser.I can't get the layer part to work. And I don't even know of it works inboth browser either.DHTML seems to work only in Explorer. DOM... well, I haven't figured outwhat that really is.Can someone please help me?What should I use?/John
