i have a new e-commerce website and need to get high rank on google, if i started a large advertising campain and got high traffic on my site (even if it is not usefull traffic), does google sense this ?? or it only depends on link popularity? The amount of traffic to your website does not effect where google ranks you.It depends where the traffic is coming from. If for instance somebody does a search in Google and chooses your site it is bound to have relevance to the ranking.av1972 wrote:let's say somebody does a search for strawberry. 10 results appear on the first page. but this person chooses site with position 5. if many people do the same thing it is only logical that it will be position higher in the search in time. But then people could just find their sites in the search engines and keep clicking through to get a higher position. Sorry but there is no chance in this world that as part of googles algo the amount of times a site is clicked comes into its ranking process. It just simply wouldn't work.i did say of many people do the same thing and come to the same conclusion, than by definition "DEMOCRATIC" means that THEY are right.I have to agree with Jess ....Google does not track click throughs --- so the number of visitors has no bearing on where your site appears in SERPs.Link popularity is just one of 100+ factors that Google uses to rank sites. If you want to rank well, have keyword targeted pages, a number of quality related links, and good content.RAYE2 wrote:
