Does linking out to authority domains help in rankings? According to me it doesn't . Want to know your views. Google really loves backlinks from authority domains I am not talking about getting links from authority domains, I am talking about linking out to authority domains. And please provide some source if think it does. Yes I think it helps with the credibility of your site which in turn improves your ranking.

I don't think it helps at all. If that was the case, everybody would be linking out to authority domains in the hope of increasing rankings. Backlinks from the authority sites will be considered as a quality backlinks. so try to get backlink from the .org, .edu forums & blog sites google also appreciate if you are linking out the authority website, google don't want to make your website a grave neither google want you to promote irrelevant, shaggy stuff. It depends upon the link. If the authority site linking is relevant to your site's niche it helps a lot in promoting your keyword ranking in SERP. Linking to an authority site is a lot better then linking to a spam site.
